Research & Policy Analysis
American Indian and Alaska Native nations across the United States—and their counterparts around the world—are asserting rights to govern themselves in ways of their own choosing and on behalf of their own goals. Their task—to support their communities’ persistence as nations within nations—is both challenging and complex.
The purpose of the NNI Research and Policy Analysis program is to support Native nation self-determination and self-government through collaborative research on critical issues and to provide ideas for how Native nations can put research results to use as they pursue their purposes and exercise the right to govern themselves.
