In celebrating its tenth year, the IGP is proud to share that its educational programming has reached approximately 191 Native nations from across the U.S. and many more Indigenous nations from around the world!
Thanks to all of the IGP alumni who have taken the time to learn alongside our faculty and team. We appreciate you all!

The Indigenous Governance Program (IGP) recently hosted its annual flagship event, January in Tucson 2022 (JIT). Each year, this intensive education session brings together distinguished faculty in the fields of Indigenous governance and Indigenous rights. It gives them the opportunity to teach and hold discussions with Indigenous leaders, practitioners, and community members interested in Indigenous affairs.

Now in its tenth year, JIT hosted 9 courses from its Indigenous governance catalog, including, for the first time ever, a fully online, asynchronous course created by the Native Nations Institute. The diverse student base featured leaders from twenty-three Indigenous Nations, tribal professionals working in Indian Country, and non-Indigenous participants representing non-profit organizations, government, and the private sector. The event drew an international audience, with participants Zooming in from the United States, Canada, and Australia.
