Rodriguez-Lonebear reappointed to National Advisory Council

U.S. Indigenous Data Sovereignty Network (USIDSN) co-founder and NNI graduate research associate Desi Rodriguez-Lonebear has been appointed by the director of the U.S. Census Bureau to a second 3-year term on the bureau’s National Advisory Council for Racial, Ethnic, and Other Populations. From this seat on the council, Desi will continue to advocate for improved enumeration and more accurate and relevant federal data for Indigenous peoples in the U.S. Per the recommendations from the National Advisory Council, for example, the Census Bureau will work with tribes to revise the tribal list to improve the utility of census tribal data analyses.
