NNI Executive Director Hosts Strategic Session at RES 2018
On March 6, 2018, NNI Executive Director Joan Timeche (Hopi) moderated the panel “Strategy for Comprehensive Economic Development: Process, Engaging Stakeholders, and Benefits” at the Reservation Economic Summit (RES) in Las Vegas, NV. The panel highlighted the importance of long range planning to achieve project goals and identified key ingredients for successful economic development planning. Timeche also serves as a member of the board of the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED), which hosts the annual RES event.
Reflecting on her role, Timeche remarked, “Strong tribal economies create livelihoods for tribal citizens and help assure the sustainability of our nations. It was exciting to be part of RES 2018 and of this panel, which highlighted the stories and experiences of Native nations that have been effective at creating strategic pathways for economic development through informed planning with their citizens and stakeholders.”
