Digital Resources Assistant (Summer 2021) Job Description

Provide assistance to the graphic design and digital media team on a variety of educational and outreach materials. The Digital Resources Assistant Student Worker will work on the Rebuilding Native Nations online course module updates utilizing the D2L platform and assist with the maintenance and migration of NNI websites. Total number of hours to be worked per week will be 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday. There is the possibility of continuing appointments for additional semesters.

DUTIES:

Academic appointment for summer 2021 at 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week), with the possibility of continuing appointments for additional semesters. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Graphic Designer and Indigenous Governance Program Manager and will:
  • Build 5-6 new online courses on D2L using existing content
  • Upload content from a Google Drive folder to a D2L course and develop a file structure
  • Communicate with our network of NNI partners via email to gather and organize information
  • Perform user testing on course (cross-check resource pages for consistency; check for broken links; ensure links open in new page, etc.)
  • Other tasks as needed


THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING QUALITIES:

  • An interest in and respect for the unique multicultural environment at UArizona
  • Skills in developing and maintaining good working relationships and ability to interact effectively with a diverse array of individuals and groups
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently gather and synthesize information from multiple sources.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work across cultures and disciplines.
  • Experience (preferred) with Learning Management Systems (D2L) and Content Management Systems (Drupal).
  • Excellent grammar skills and can copy edit reliably.
  • Familiarity working with Indigenous peoples and/or prior coursework in American Indian Studies.


Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

Current undergraduate or graduate student

WORK STUDY PREFERRED BUT NON-WORK STUDY WILL BE CONSIDERED


Pay rate

$13/hour
