Are you interested in making a valuable impact in your indigenous community?

Apply now to be a part of NNI’s new initiative, Project Youth ACT (Agents of Change within Tribes). NNI will host three one-day workshops that will include topics on Native Nation Building, critical analysis, and communications. In addition, students will craft a message that incorporates multimedia. Youth attending the workshops will gain advocacy skills that can be immediately utilized to address a current social justice issue. This initiative is open to 25 high school students ages 14-18 from the Tucson area.

The 25 students selected will have the opportunity to:

  • learn about Native Nation Building and social justice concepts
  • identify an issue and consider ways to effect change
  • gain advocacy skills
  • collaborate with media professionals to tell a digital story
  • learn audio and video editing skills ($100 award for best group project)
  • get hands-on experience creating powerful visual messages
  • experience the University of Arizona’s campus

Workshop Dates:

Three Saturdays in August: 12th, 19th, 26th. Location: University of Arizona, McClelland Park 650 N PARK AVE Tucson, AZ.
