Undergraduate & Graduate Positions

Employment with the Native Nations Institute (NNI) is an effective way for UA students to gain valuable work experience, earn money, and support NNI’s commitment to strengthening Indigenous governance by providing policy analysis and research, leadership and organizational development programs, and curricular resources to Native nations.

Undergraduate Positions

NNI seeks undergraduate students dedicated to acquiring knowledge, skills, and practical experience in support of our work focused upon Native nation building. Employment opportunities within NNI’s research and policy analysis, digital resources, and administration areas may become available.

  • To be eligible for undergraduate employment, student employees must be currently enrolled in an academic program at the University of Arizona. More information can be found here.

Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) Positions

NNI hires current graduate students committed to expanding their Indigenous governance knowledge base, refining their research and analytical skills, and gaining exceptional work experience while completing their UA graduate degree requirements.

  • To be eligible for GRA employment, graduate student employees must be a degree-seeking student admitted to a UA graduate degree program; have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; and be enrolled in at least 6 graduate level course units. More information can be found here.
